Tasked with providing a method of licensing 2500 MS Access databases across a diverse range of environments worldwide, we have been busy finalising the project for release.
Our Workbench application manages various types of user access within the database farm.
Contact ManagerMay 2007
We're currently working on a contact manager solution for a client in London. The first aim of the project was the centralisation and normalisation of the client data.
Development Note:
The most challenging aspect to building a database is always the analysis. Controversial?
No.
Analysis always = theory.
(Unless you have the time of course - have you?)
Consider this. If you build the foundations correctly, future enhancements will be less about getting around the design restrictions and more about the enhancement.
Going forward, the next project milestone is sharing the data model across the organisation.
Finally, phase 3 (and this is an 18 day project), is the provision of a reporting suite which empowers the user base to produce exports which were previously a manual task.

Version CheckUpMay 2007
Version control is always an issue when not regulated. This VB.net project will incorporate an online version check from a bespoke application.
The end game? As long as you have an internet connection, you'll always have the latest version of the software (or at least you'll know about it - after all, we can't force you to install it!)
